ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF V6 AND A STRAIGHT CYLINDER MOTOR ENGINE.

Any time an engine has more than 6 cylinders, it will be manufactured as a V engine as a straight 8 or straight 10 will not fit in the engine compartment of the average vehicle today and I don't know of any V4 engines in use on vehicles these days.


  Inline Engine
 The inline engine also called I (eg. I6=inline 6 cylinder) because all of the cylinders are inline with each other and the pistons are vertical.
 An inline engine can easily accommodate an odd number of cylinders such as 5 cylinder engine or the 3 cylinder engines that may be used in small fuel efficient models.
 An inline 6 will be cheaper to build than a V6 engine and there can be less complications in this 6 as there is one engine head for the timing belt or chain to connect to.

 V Engine
  This type of engine, if viewed from the front will resemble a V as the pistons are not vertical, they are slant on either side of the engine. Each side or bank of the engine has it's separate engine head and camshafts. The V will be different angles in different engines but the common angles are 45, 60 and 90 degrees.

An inline 6 cylinder engine

A TOYOTA HIGHLANDER 3MZ ENGINE.

The V engine produces more torque at lower RPM (Revolution Per Minute) ranges probably because of the power stroke coming from 2 sides of the crankshaft.

The V engine is also a compact engine per cylinder. The length required to house an inline 6 cylinder engine will house a V12 cylinder engine.

The width of a V engine is wider but not considerably wider and not so wide that it cannot fit in an engine bay. A W engine (Buggati uses it fot their monstrosity of a thing theycall a Veyron :P) is wider than a V engine and it still fits comfortably in the engine bay of some of the larger cars.

The bottom line is both engines are effective as both engines are used on high performance models with the various advantages of both not really doing much to pose a threat on the existence of the other.

WAEC Announces 2018 New Rules On Examination Malpractice (See New Rules)

The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has revealed what will happen to students found guilty of examination malpractice.

WAEC said students caught in examination malpractice will not be allowed to take the exam for some years.

This was part of the resolutions made at the recent 65th Nigeria examinations committee (NEC) meeting which held in Lagos and contained in a communiqué signed by Demianus Ojijieogu, head, public affairs.

The committee approved various sanctions for all established cases of malpractice.



The communiqué reads, “In the course of considering various reported cases of malpractice, the committee, after diligent deliberations approved appropriate sanctions in all established cases of malpractice, as prescribed by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the council’s examination.

“It approved the entire results of candidates involved in proven cases, which attract cancellation of entire results (CER) while subject results of those involved in proven cases which attract cancellation of subject results (CSR) be similarly cancelled.

“In addition, some candidates will also suffer other sanctions such as barring them from sitting for the council’s examinations for a certain number of years.

“The decision of the committee will be implemented without delay and the affected candidates and examination centres duly informed by the council. However, the results of candidates who were exonerated by the committee will be released.”

1. DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, splattering it against that freshly painted part you were drying.

2. WIRE WHEEL: Cleans paint off bolts and then throws them somewhere under the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprint whorls and hard-earned guitar calluses in about the time it takes you to say, "Damn!!!"

3. ELECTRIC HAND DRILL: Normally used for spinning pop rivets in their holes until you die of old age

4. PLIERS: Used to round off hexagonal bolt heads.

5. HACKSAW: One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija board principle: It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable motion, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes.

6. VISE GRIP PLIERS: Used to round off bolt heads. If nothing else is available: also used to transfer intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.

7. OXYACETYLENE TORCH: Used almost entirely for setting various flammable objects in your shop on fire. Also handy for igniting the grease inside a wheel hub you're trying to get the bearing race out of.

24. MECHANIC'S KNIFE: Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on boxes containing upholstered items, chrome-plated metal, plastic parts and the hand not holding the knife.

PNEUMATIC GREASE GUN: a tool that once you are situated under your vehicle, having moved the air hose from under the creeper wheels and is now hanging onto the Zerk fitting, and once the trigger is pulled you find that the grease cartridge is empty and it has been empty the last five times when you tried to use it then.

27. AIR CHISEL: A tool that when being used to gently cut into a piece of thin metal, decides that the "teaser-button" will now go to "full-hammer", shooting the part out the garage door and into traffic lanes only to get run over by an 18-wheeler.

28. TRANSMISSION FILL FUNNEL: A tool that when used correctly will overflow after the first 1/2 quart of oil, ATF or coolant, dumping the fluid on the engine, in the distributor, all over the fan belts or down the air intake.
